Looking for something different from your typical alfredo or tomato sauce pasta? Well, look no further! I have a recipe that is sure to add a little variety to your traditional pasta recipe. If you’re looking for more of traditional alfredo pasta, I have linked one here. This pasta recipe was a big hit with my husband and son, and I am here to share this easy and delicious recipe with you.
The Ingredients List Includes:
- 2 packs of fettuccine or linguine noodles
- 1 bag of medium shrimp
- 1 yellow onion
- 2 cans of Alfredo sauce
- 2 cans of crushed tomatoes
- 1 package of Andouille sausage
- Bell peppers
- Spinach (optional)
- Celery
- Minced Garlic
- Olive oil
- Tony Chachere’s
- Zatarains Blackened Seasoning
- Garlic Powder
- Shredded parmesan
Prep:
Remove tails and shells from shrimp, you are welcome to keep them on if you would prefer. Cut up 1/4 of a yellow onion, 3 small bell peppers. and 3 stalks of celery. You can also buy this already diced. Also cut up sausage links into smaller pieces. Season shrimp with blackened seasoning, minced garlic, black pepper, Tony Chachere’s and paprika for extra spice. Once seasoned, it will look something like this.
Place, olive oil in a skillet and let shrimp cook until they have a pale to light pink color. Also, place a large pot with water on the stove to boil noodles. Once shrimp are done, remove them and place sausage pieces in the skillet using the remaining liquid from the shrimp.
Let sausage cook until browned. I prefer mine to have a crisp to them, to obtain this just cook longer. Once cooked to your desired preference, remove and place bell peppers, yellow onion, and celery in skillet.
Cook until soft. Once soft, add 1 can of crushed tomatoes to skillet. Then add 1 can of the Alfredo sauce. Mix together. Add the second can of crushed tomatoes. Your mixture will look something like this. This is why it is called pink pasta, due to its color. At this point you can also add shredded parmesan to your sauce as well.
Add shrimp and sausage to sauce mixture and let simmer for 7-10 minutes. Add noodles to sauce and mix well. Top with blackened seasoning and parmesan and enjoy your pink pasta.
Bon Apetit!

I might actually be able to get my picky eater to try this if I tell her it’s ‘pink’ pasta. Looks yummy!

Oh yum! I’d have to do it without the shrimp due to allergies. Do you think this recipe would be good without it or do you think there is a good substitute for the shrimp?
caressa.worthy says
I think it would still be great without shrimp. I would add chicken as a substitute but if not go without.

Yes it’s definitely not your traditional pasta, but that’s what makes it fun.

I’ll tell you a little secret, being Italian, we don’t make pasta with sausage xD But with minced meat yes and with a preparation similar to that made by you … it’s called ragù!
PS = and no shrimp! We make pasta mare e monti but it’s shrimp and mushrooms!

This sounds so good! I’m going to try to make a dairy free version. That pink sauce is like the best of both worlds.
