Why did I create this blog? Hi, Im Caressa Walker , a 26 year old mom ( almost 27 year old woman) who is taking life second by second. And to be totally honest created this blog to see if other women experience the same things that I do. I think as moms we sometimes feel like were walking through a dark tunnel with no one to be found because were afraid to be seen as a complainer for the very thing we created.
As women we often times struggle to express our feelings because we are so used to naturally putting everyone before ourselves. I have a bad habit of this and as a result it causes me to feel burnout more prematurely. I even struggle even knowing what I want when asked by others because I would rather spend the money on my child or husband. Being a mom is a journey that I feel that I could have never been prepared for no matter how many books I read, videos I watched, or hospital classes I took. No matter how many women told me that it would get easier (including my own); I generally do not feel that it ever will. Being a woman in general is exhausting because we are expected to strive to reach the societal standards of what “women should be”.
This blog was created for women who feel that they get lost in the sauce of life and often times neglect themselves in the process. This blog was created to provide support and knowledge to women and mothers alike through the life experiences of myself and others. This blog was created to provide therapy that will help me and hopefully others to feel that they are not alone. Whoever is reading this, just know that you are not alone and that you are doing an amazing job at whatever you are choosing to do at this moment in time. Your experience as a mother and/or woman is valid and relevant.
Ladies, what is the most difficult thing about being a woman? What do you find the most rewarding? Comment below with your answer. I look forward to creating a safe space for healing, positivity, and learning to occur.
XO, The Imperfect Woman
