Goals are plans that we make to help us to live better lives. We oftentimes create goals based on long drawn out time frames such as 1 year, 5 years or even 10. But what I have found that works best for me is to create weekly goals and separate them into daily goals. This way I can make sure that each and every day that I am ACTIVELY keyword ACTIVELY working towards those yearly goals that I am wanting to achieve. I have listed below a few ways to help you accomplish your goals in life.
1. MAKE THEM VISIBLE
Write your goals down in a place that you spend time in every day. Whether that be in your bathroom, your office, or in your planner. You need to make sure that you see these goals each and every day. I tend to place my goals in the REMINDERS or NOTES app that comes installed on the IPHONE, that way the goals can go with me anywhere and can be found at any time. Having them in your brain is great, but writing them on paper allow them to become more real and accessible. I have also found that me writing them on paper vs just in my phone has helped me to be more aware of completing the goals that I set.
2. MAKE THEM PLAIN
You can write a goal down every day, but if you don’t come up with a plan to achieve the goal, the goal is less likely to be achieved. With that being said, take some time to reflect on what it will truly take to achieve that goal and add that information up the goal so that you can make sure you are hitting those points that need to be done to reach the goal. So for example, if my goal is to work out for 30 minutes every day, something that I can write down under the goal is to get clothes out and put them on the bed or to pack my gym bag. Im more likely to go to the gym now because the pre work is already handled.
3. SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS
The mind is a battlefield that can either build you up or tear you down. Make sure to put yourself in the best headspace possible before reading or looking over your goals. If you are in a terrible mood when you wake up, looking at all the things you want to accomplish that day will more than likely make you feel worse. Put yourself in a better space by drinking your cup of joe, praying, or whatever else works to put you in a better mood before trying to attack your goals for the day.
4. EVALUATE YOUR WHY
Why do you want to achieve these goals? Is it to stunt on people? Is it to keep up with the joneses, by the way who are the joneses? Your why a lot of times helps to dictate how devoted you become to your goals in life. If your reason is just you, sometimes it may make it harder to find the strength the put in the effort because there is nothing outside of you to hold you accountable. I used to always make the goal to lose weight, but until my son came and I acquired the desire to run and keep up with him, I would make up excuses to not exercise.

I keep intending to make a vision board downsized in my planner, but it has escaped me in this SAH era. Maybe I should make that first on my list.
